belong to 用法：不要與belong in混淆

belong to 用法作“屬於”解：

1. He says the mines should belong to the people. 他説礦山應該屬於人民。
2. As a writer, he really belongs to the 18th century. 作為作家，他實際上是屬於十八世紀。

belong in作“適合放（待，用）在某處”：

1. He belonged in France not in New England. 他適合待在法國，而不是英格蘭。
2. A man of his ability belongs to teaching. 像他這樣有能力的人適於教書。

除了belong in之外，還有belong on, belong under。其中belong均作“適於放（待，用）在……”解。
